THE RIGHT WRITER
Finding a writer for your company or project might be a 'I-don't-know-where-to-start' situation for those who have never worked with one before.
I always say "It's about finding the right writer for you." Right for your style, fits right in your company culture (for although a freelancer might not work in your office, she or he does have to get along with your people) and right within your budget.

I always say "It's about finding the right writer for you." Right for your style, fits right in your company culture (for although a freelancer might not work in your office, she or he does have to get along with your people) and right within your budget.
Before you begin your search, contemplate a moment on the following:
1) Budget
2) Degree of professionalism and creativity required in the writing Target audience, medium to deliver content, copywriting for a corporate prospectus, product leaflet, company blog or ghostwriting for an autobiography, personal experiences, etc. 3) Duration you would require the copywriter to commit to your project(s) and how closely you need to work with him/her Weekly or monthly ad-hoc projects, contractual basis, a book project that requires longer time to complete and several rounds of revision, in-person meetings required, location of the copywriter. |
4) Project deadlines
Once you are sure of the above, it'll be easier to advertise for or seek the right copywriter for you - you'll know what to ask. From there, you can advertise for a freelance writer via your usual vacancy advertising methods, online freelance portals or search for individual websites (like this one!). From the start, ensure that the writer can deliver what you need. Try asking for sample writings that demonstrate past experiences with similar requirements. All the best in your search, Ling |
